"Anyone can be a runner,... We were meant to move. We were meant to run. It is the easiest sport." - Bill Rogers, Maraton Runner
The Middletown Athletic Club (MAC) was formed in 2002 by several local, long-time runners, to promote running as a social, recreational and competitive activity. In early 2008, MAC became an officially-recognized member of the Road Runners Clubs of America (RRCA).
MAC’s goals include promoting running as a family-oriented activity and to promote youth running. Whether you are new to running or a seasoned competitor, youth athlete or Master, run for health and fitness or train to race a marathon, MAC offers something for everyone. You’ll find someone with whom you can relate among our members.
MAC sponsors weekly club runs for runners of all paces and goals, as well as several running-related social events and races each year. The biggest, the Premier Physical Therapy Peach Festival 5k held in mid-August, draws 250+ runners each year and includes a kiddie 1k. Check our ‘events’ page for more details on MAC events.
As a non-for-profit organization, proceeds from MAC-related dues and events are used to support the local school district’s athletic scholarship funds. And, of course, MAC is a great way to join your neighbors and enjoy the simple sport of running.
